The Philippines will have a “National Week for Overcoming Extreme Poverty”

In the Philippines, the National Anti-Poverty Commission will lead the observance of the “National Week for Overcoming Extreme Poverty” (NWOEP) from October 17-23, 2014.

The commemoration of the event is a follow-up to the 2004 Presidential Proclamation which aimed to gather support from all sectors of society – national and local governments, civil society organizations, private sector and the communities themselves – in the fight against poverty.

This year’s theme is “Leave no one behind: think, decide and act together against extreme poverty.”

All NAPC member-agencies, key partners and institutions are encouraged to post the 2014 NWOEP banner on the facade of their offices, and respective official websites.
