A roundtable is organized in Paris on Tuesday, 14 October 2014 (2pm to 6pm) by UNESCO in cooperation with the NGO ATD Fourth World and the International Social Science Council (ISSC).
With widespread recognition that many of the advances made under the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) have failed to benefit the most impoverished and socially excluded communities, how can local, national and international actors ensure that development policies have a positive impact on the lives of people living in extreme poverty?
The roundtable will discuss three main questions:
* Are we measuring extreme poverty correctly?
* How can public policies help people living in extreme poverty benefit from development?
* What roles can global partnerships play in moving towards poverty eradication and social justice?
